Vacuums Suck

Life abhors a vacuum. A vacancy, any vacancy, demands that something come in to fill that space. Take a moment to ponder that: whenever there is an empty spot, SOMETHING will begin to fill it: but not necessarily what you WANT to fill it.  To get what you want takes purposeful intention.  This applies to life at all levels, even those who are stuck and not able to find their path forward.  It is also true in Leadership. When there is no leadership in your personal life, or an organization, or the leadership is inadequate, one of two things will happen: those who recognize the need will move toward filling need (purposeful intention), or it will be filled by whoever is closest, regardless of competence or fulfillment.  In your personal life if you are stuck, you become unstuck through purposeful action, or you become bogged down even more.

Leaders are influencers. In the best sense they use their influence to empower themselves and those around them in the fulfillment of the goals, that is, to purposefully and intentionally move forward.
